Middle and secondary education in Carroll County is considered grades 6 - 12 and is provided in three primary locations, Carroll County High School, Carroll County Middle School, and St. Paul School. Currently, the enrollment numbers are 1,064 students at Carroll County High School, 805 students at Carroll County Middle School, and 41 students at St. Paul School. Educational services are also provided to middle and secondary students through the Regional Alternative Education program.
Middle and secondary students are provided educational opportunities in the core areas of English, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as fine arts, health and physical education, and exploratory career and technical education. Our secondary students are provided instruction in these same areas well as foreign language and career and technical education completer courses. Many dual credit options are available for students enrolled at Carroll County High School including STEM education courses provided through the Blue Ridge Crossroads Governor's Academy for Technical Education(BRCGATE). Carroll County students also have access to several Governor's School Opportunities.
