“Getting ready for Preschool and Kindergarten” is the topic of the next Carroll County Parent Connect meeting, sponsored by Carroll County Public School Division (CCPSD). We are excited to offer this opportunity for our youngest population and their families.
Representatives from Speech, Occupational and Physical therapy services, Early Childhood Educators including Pre K, Kindergarten and Early Childhood Special Education teachers will be available. The focus will be on fine and gross motor skills, language and social skills and school readiness skills. There will be short presentations with opportunities for questions, answers and examples of activities. Participants will leave with ideas to work with children to develop skills at home and in a variety of environments. There will be a limited number of activity kits available for participants.
School Readiness as defined by the State of Virginia is to include:
- Ready Children-socially, personally, physically and intellectually
- Ready Families-adults who understand the importance of their role in education
- Ready Schools-schools that accept all children in the community and provide a high quality educational environment to them
- Ready Communities- communities that support families and schools
